Sardis Raptor Center - Washington State

Educational Programs

The Largest Bird of Prey Center in the Pacific Northwest

Argentina HawkEducational programs offered by Sardis include some of the most magnificent birds of prey such as Bald and Golden Eagles, a variety of hawks, the largest owl species in the world, and a Peregrine Falcon, capable of 200-mph dives!

On-site programs include tours of the facilities, lessons on the natural history of many different spcies of raptors, and close-up encounters with our residents. Most of the display areas are home to resident birds that were injured and are unable to safely return to the wild. These residents are ambassadors for their wild cousins. They teach us all how humans interfere with the environment, sometimes without even realizing the extent.

You can come to Sardis... or Sardis can come to you!

ON SITE PROGRAMS

Sardis is located on grounds that are nestled in meadows and forests, with ponds and streams. On site programs allow for groups to tour the entire facility, including the hospital, x-ray, and surgery areas.

Birds on display at the center represent a variety of species which include owls, hawks, falcons, and eagles, some of which are trained to the glove for "Hunters of the Sky." All birds in the tours are residents that have injuries that prevent their return to the wild. This program is highly recommended for all ages and enables one to see many magnificent birds.

Cost: $3.00 per person / Time: Allow 1.5 hours
